Clarksburg residents gather at the Ovid Hazen Wells Recreational Park, a 290-acre area that includes ballfields, playgrounds, and trails. Expansion is being planned, and proposed elements include an amphitheater, community greenspace, kite lawn, carousel, picnic zone, water play structure, adventure playground, teen adventure play area, skatepark, fitness/track facility, and dog park. Kites Over Clarksburg—an annual event that includes communal kite flying, arts and crafts, and games—takes place here each March. Black Hills Park is also a popular gathering spot. The space features a dog run, fishing pier and boat rentals, plus trails, playgrounds, and picnic shelters.
