Good Schools
Montgomery County schools are widely regarded as good, with a track record to show it. The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) district consists of 206 schools. It is the largest school district in Maryland and 14th largest in the US, with over 160,000 students and more than 13,000 teachers. MCPS got the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2010, and it keeps topping the county statistics on AP exams, with 52.1% of students receiving a college-ready score, compared to 31.2% of Maryland public school graduates and 22.8% of national graduates.
Easy to Get Around
When it comes to transportation, essential places throughout the county are interconnected beautifully with a major road network. There’s also the Red Line of the Washington Metro and thousands of stops along the way through Montgomery County. It’s also possible to cross the Potomac River by ferry, between Leesburg, VA and White’s Ferry, MD.
With plenty of transportation options, it’s easy to get around, which can be quite convenient for those who commute to work.
